Allison

great day with allison

A few weeks ago my friend Allison came over from Breck for some cross-country skiing on Saturday morning. She ended up staying the weekend and we had a blast - catching up over lunch, cross-countrying behind my house, a night out with Erika, then downhill at Vail on Sunday. You know when you just get another person? That's us. We don't see each other often but when we do, there's part of us that reflects a part of each other. She's nomadic and social and athletic and creative and takes time for herself. She has a strong inner voice and puts it above all else, so she can live and love with joy. It's inspiring and I am grateful for her.

burning star

burning star

Backcountry skiing behind my house. This aspen forest is a playground. Some aspen are old and broken, some burnt, some scarred with lover's names, some just budding with spring.

To me this shows the difference between the path and the way. Sounds obscure but makes sense to me.

saturday morning

saturday morning over coffee

Amanda's gonna kill me because she hates this picture but I think it's great. She's young and playful but her expression here shows what a deep, old soul she is. It's hard to catch her not smiling. I took this on Saturday morning in my room as we drank coffee and told stories. The blown up photo above her I took on a trip to Durango and reminds me of flying dreams.
